I'm an experienced copywriter in digital and print B2C and B2B content. By starting my career as a Staff Writer at Groupon, I became adept at researching a business, discerning its core selling points, and conceptualizing cohesive, economical, engaging, and—when appropriate—humorous copy. In four years I wrote and edited content for more than 5,000 merchants in dozens of categories.
I've since collaborated with talented designers in several locations. At Walgreens, I conceptualized playful emails and practiced the fine art of subject-line composition. On the print team, I helped produce direct mail pieces, brochures, pharmacy collateral, and a major brand advertisement. I went on to forge a similarly diverse array of content for an experiential startup called JOYiZM, where I also wrote social media copy.
Along the way, I’ve done product photography, quality control for jewelry, and assembled about 100 Adirondack chairs while working in a furniture store. It seems proper that a writer ply other trades now and then.
Hopefully, I’m a better writer and thinker in my 30s than I was in my 20s. It's my mission to sustain that trend. When my idea machine needs oiling, I flip through Ogilvy’s “On Advertising” or “Hey Whipple, Squeeze This.”
I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in History from the University of Illinois Chicago.
